HMRC have identified a new VAT email scam which encourages people to scan a QR code.

HMRC are warning people about a new VAT email scam which may encourage you to scan a QR code.

HMRC say they will never ask you to submit personal information via a QR code.

If you receive this email, do not engage with it. You can report it to HMRC via the GOV.UK website.
