Self assessment tax payments

Self assessment payments are usually due by 31 January following the end of the tax year to which they relate. For example, tax due for the 2022/23 tax year is due for payment by 31 January 2024.

Tax: HMRC determinations of tax liability

If you were required to submit tax returns to HMRC but you did not do so, HMRC may eventually send you a ‘determination’ of the tax they think you owe.
